Kelleen Kogane was the first woman in our schools 40-year history promoted to the rank of 4th Dan at Jundokan headquarters on Nov. 8, 2008. Kelleen teaches in Phoenix, Arizona. Congratulations Kelleen!

Sensei Michael Young, 3rd Dan, won the
kumite (free fighting) gold medal in April
2004, 2005 and 2006 at the Osawa
international karate championships in
Las Vegas, NV.
Mike defeated all of his opponents in the
black belt divisions, none of which scored
on him.
Mikes calm and relaxed fighting approach
drew verbal admiration from karate
masters at the event.
Mike adds this win to several other
national and local kumite gold medals.
Way to go Mike!

2nd kyu brown belt Katrinna Rodriguez
won the silver and gold medal in the
girls juvenile B and 70kg divisions at
the 2007 U.S. Judo Federation Junior
Nationals in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Eight
other participants from Anchorage and
the Mat-Su valley competed for Alaska.
Katrinna's judo training compliments
her traditional karate training resulting
in a dynamic blend of talent.
