Sensei Frank Chalifour Jr., Sempai, 5th Dan, began his training with Sensei Nakada
in 1973 at age 15. Frank was promoted to his present rank October 27, 2006 at the
Naha Okinawa So Honbu headquarters by Kancho Miyasato.
Frank is credited with starting the first Alaska karate officials certification program
under the U.S. Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) to train Alaska's judges. In 1986 Frank
brought the Junior Olympic karate program to Alaska where many young people
realized their dreams.
A national "A" rated AAU-WUKO referee, referee licencing examiner, ACEP certified
coach and instructor with over 33 years of teaching traditional karate as a volunteer.
In 1980 & 1981 he won both the city and state kumite titles at age 22. His passion
for the art and dedication to his students is unwavering. Frank is the longest
remaining original student of Sensei Nakada. Frank was association president from
1985-2007. Frank is opening an affiliate dojo in Melbourne Australia in early 2008.  
Sensei Wayne Kogane, President, 5th Dan, began his training under Sensei
Nakada in 1983. Wayne was promoted to his present rank October 27, 2006 at
the Okinawa So Honbu headquarters by Kancho Miyasato. As an avid national
competitor, instructor and coach, Wayne has dedicated himself to the style for
over 24 years volunteering his time and generosity to all.
Sensei Robert Stagg, Vice President-Secretary, 4th Dan, started his karate
training under Sensei Nakada in 1984 at the age of twelve. Robert was
promoted to his present rank October 27, 2006 at the Okinawa So Honbu
headquarters by Kancho Miyasato. Robert has numerous state and national
gold medal credits to his name. He is an accomplished karate practitioner
and teacher with excellent form that enjoys vigorous workouts. Robert
teaches grade school in Anchorage and volunteers his time at the dojo. He
is well liked by all and a dedicated student of Goju-Ryu for over 22 years.
Sensei James Harris, 3rd Dan, began his training with Sensei Nakada in 1984
James is a skilled practitioner that is known for his physical power.  He has won
many gold medals in kumite both in state and at national competitions. James is
a serious student with a likeable demeanor with over 22 years of volunteering
his time to the school.
Sensei Tony Moreno, 3rd Dan, began his training with Sensei Nakada in 1980.
His classes emphasize detail and correctness in form with proper attitude. As
one of Sensei Nakada's longest running students, Tony embodies the strong
spirit and discipline of our style in all who train under him. He is a powerful and
dynamic instructor with high standards. Tony has volunteered his time at the
school for over 26 years.  
Sensei Mike Young, 3rd Dan, began his training under Sensei Nakada in 1991.
Mike is known for his kumite prowess, power and peaceful demeanor. He has
won numerous state, national and international gold medals in kumite. Mike is
an accomplished practitioner, coach and instructor. He is well liked by all and an
inspiration to up and coming students. Mike has volunteered his time at the
school for the past 15 years.  
Sensei Rolando Dela Cruz, Treasurer, 4th Dan began his training under Sensei
Nakada in 1981. Rolando is a gifted, staunch traditionalist with excellent form
and ability. His classes emphasize hard training and discipline. Rolando has
volunteered his time to our school for the past 25 years.
